Epidemiologist

Dear hiring manager,

I am writing to apply for the Epidemiologist at local public health institute. I am a graduate with over seven years of combined work and education experience in Public Health and health research. I hold a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from University of Kentucky with emphasis on Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and a Bachelor’s degree in Preventive Medicine from a top 3 university in China. In addition, I also hold a valid Certificate in Public Health issued by National Board of Public Health Examiners.

Currently, I work for (******) and am responsible to perform data analysis and database development for a faculty-led project about (*****). I used to work as a research assistant in the biggest CDC in (******) for the Department of Infectious Disease; in this position, I supervised investigators and data entry assistants, oversaw program schedules, submitted program renewals to the funding agency and maintained administrative documents. In my previous position as a research assistant in the Department of Statistics at (***), I assisted multiple grant funded projects to perform dataset management, data manipulation and statistical analysis. As addressed in my resume, I also have over a year of full time experience at a Hospital setting and local community health center. Through these internship experience, I am able to assist with chronic and communicable diseases (Hepatitis and HIV) surveillance and report, health education and promotion target Obesity, field investigations and sample collections during occurrence of hands foot and mouth disease. While highly organized with excellent time management skills, I am also comfortable to communicate with people of various backgrounds and different ages.

Above all, I believe my skills and experience in Public Health would be a good match for the Epidemiologist position. It would definitely be a thrill to be able to bring my dedication to this position at (*****).
