Sample cover letter for Internship position at McKinsey

POSITION:

Business Analyist

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am Andrea Masferer, a third-year Business and Administration Major student in ESADE Business School, graduating in May 2018. I am writing to express my keen interest in doing an internship in Procter & Gamble.

Consultancy consists on helping and empowering others to achieve long-lasting success. The propose of this industry is in my opinion fascinating and exciting and has led me to display a deep concern in it. Being McKinsey the leading company in the sector has undoubtedly attracted me as the best place to do an internship. Its challenging and ambitious projects, its diverse and solid values and the personal impact that McKinsey creates, really excites and interests me. Working at McKinsey as a Business Analyst could represent a first-hand experience in consulting, would strengthen my skills and also let me find new ones and would represent a springboard for my career. At the same time, it would be a source of enrichment and a formidable challenge which I am very motivated to overcome. I would relish the opportunity of working with a highly-skilled and diverse team, with the aim of building a relationship of trust with clients and providing innovative new approaches in order to ensure lasting success.

I consider myself to be a really hardworking and energetic person with entrepreneurial and leadership skills. Since January I have been working on a personal business project about the creation of an App, which started as an ambition with two more fellows. After having put a great deal of effort into it and working hard together we have launched the MVP version, created the Business Plan and applied to two accelerators. This project has helped me to develop my teamwork skills and also to realize the importance of commitment and perseverance.

During my period in ESADE I have participated in different projects and affiliated the Marketing Association. One project which I really liked was doing a Market Research for a French company, Escadrille, which wanted to enter the convenience store market in Spain. I enjoyed collaborating in a team of 4 people of different years and backgrounds, analyzing inputs to devise a business strategy and presenting solutions to the company. I also consider myself to be open-minded, curious and concern in social aspects; due to this I have volunteered twice in the Republic of Ghana and in Nepal. I am very pleased to have helped and having known new cultures.

I am confident that joining McKinsey will help me develop my skills and participate in meaningful work. I feel that I meet your requirements because of my enthusiasm in giving the best of myself and my desire to learn and improve. I am committed to contribute as an active member working without any hesitation in order to achieve success.

I hope that you will look at my application favorably and look forward to be given the opportunity to discuss further with you in person.

Yours sincerely,
