Sample cover letter for Internship position at Meggitt

I am a mechanical engineering master’s student with an emphasis in micro- and nano-scale engineering. I am hoping to be able to apply my knowledge and dedicate my time to the MEMS developer position with Meggitt.

I have knowledge of fabrication fundamentals and currently taking courses to improve my understanding. I have taken fabrication courses in which I have created transistors, electrostatic actuators, and a triaxial capacitive MEMS accelerometer. Previous internship positions have also prepared me to understand the demands of industry. Under the guidance of various engineers, I have learned to perform process steps, analysis, and studies to improve performance. I have industry experience developing appropriate documentation of findings and implemented solutions in order to make technical presentations to a project team. I would love to apply my knowledge as well as learn more about the field.
