My name is Shrey Modi. I am a 3^rd year undergraduate student of the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, accredited to be the premiere engineering institute in India. I have a GPA of 8.15/10.00 and am ranked 4^th in the department of 47 students.

Going through your web page, I found your current works in Transportation Engineering, are of great interest to me and I would like to pursue a research career in this field. My interests include Traffic Engineering, Transportation Planning, Dynamic Programming and Simulation Development. Apart from these, I have keen interest in optimization techniques and have learnt Genetic Algorithms and Ant Colony Optimization techniques.

I have included the projects that I have in the above fields in my CV.

I would like to know if it is possible for me to apply for a Summer Internship position at your lab, performing research under your expert guidance in the above-mentioned areas, or any other topic you might suggest.

If such a position is possible, I am willing to perform any work assigned to me or study whatever material you might suggest, since I have time till April 2008.

If required, I will make a formal application through whatever channels you specify. I would be glad to furnish any further details if required.
