Sample cover letter for Internship position at Micropoint Bioscience, Inc.

POSITION:

Medical Internship

Dear Hiring Manager for Medical Device R&D and Manufacturing Internship,

As a current undergraduate student at ________ who is passionate about the discipline of cell biology and biotechnology, I am writing to apply for the Internship in Medical Device R&D and Manufacturing. I became aware of the opportunity while exploring internships on Indeed.com. Micropoint Bioscience, Inc. is a world leader in the sales and manufacturing of Point of Care Testing medical and diagnostic products, which is why I am particularly interested in your company.

I am currently working towards an undergraduate degree in biology, which gives me a strong background in biology, along with additional skills gained through coursework in genetics, cell biology, and chemistry. This spring semester I had the opportunity to work with a professor at ______, where I participated in western blotting to determine if a cell culture of colon cancer cells, known as HCT-15, has EGFR, short for epidermal growth factor receptor. The project involved gel electrophoresis, use of common laboratory equipment, and troubleshooting.

Your need for an individual who will be able to assist in various projects with the R&D and manufacturing team is an excellent match to my strong background in the sciences and ability to make detailed observations, analyze data, and interpret results.

I have been following Micropoint’s development in providing POC diagnosis for disease condition and progression and treatment response of the therapeutics in patients with chronic diseases, and I would be very pleased to intern with a company that is at the forefront of producing products capable of performing and delivering quick quantitative clinical tests.

My resume is attached to provide you with greater details of my background and what I have to offer. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss this opportunity. Please feel free to contact me at [phone #]or[email] if you have further questions or need additional information. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best Regards,
