Sample cover letter for Internship position at Moelis & Company

POSITION:

M&A Intern

Dear Madam, dear Sir,

Looking for a summer internship in investment banking, I am very interested in applying at Moelis & Company to eventually start my career within your firm.
Currently a final year student at **** ****** in *****, I am completing an MSc degree with a double major in corporate finance and entrepreneurship. Prior to this, I have obtained a Bachelor degree in finance from ******* ********** in *****.

I believe my soft skills and previous internships make me a good candidate to succeed as an investment banking intern. I have had a first experience at **** ******* in asset management during six months. As my daily duties were mostly studying specific elements of given companies to draw up reports, I have acquired solid foundations in corporate finance. My second six-month internship was in M&A at *** *******. During this experience I have learnt to pay great attention to details, work long hours under considerable pressure, deliver consistent work quickly with no mistakes, and obtain trust from the seniors of the team.

What I have enjoyed the most during my last internship are the fast paced environment, the challenges of the business, and spending all these hours with brilliant and ambitious individuals. Wishing to start my career in London at an international and boutique investment bank, I believe that Moelis & Company offers the environment I am looking for.
I am aware of the challenges and skills required to enter this business, and that is probably what motivates me even more in applying for this position.

Hoping to hear from you soon, I remain available at any time on my cellphone or email to further discuss my application.

Yours sincerely,

******* ****
