Sample cover letter for Full Time position at Morgan Stanley

POSITION:

Credit Risk Analyst

In respond to a job advertisement on your website, I would like to apply for a role in Investment Banking & Global Capital Markets Analyst Programme for my graduate job.

Through my research of financial companies for full-time job, Morgan Stanley stands out to me not only by the multinational operation with more than 1300 offices and 60,000 employees in the world, but also by the fact the company is always giving its best at whatever the bank does, whether it would be advising, originating, trading, managing or distributing capital for governments, institutions and individuals. Besides, Morgan Stanley is a very well respected firm with fantastic and diverse perspectives, which serves client’s different needs while the bank helps its employees achieving multiple professional objectives. In addition, I want to work with Morgan Stanley as I would love to be a part of a team whose strong commitments to philanthropy and public work come naturally in everything they aspire to do. For those reasons, I believe the firm would be a perfect choice for my future career.

I started to get interested in Investment Banking & Global Capital Markets while I was studying in A Levels and since then, I have always wanted to build up my career as a Financial Analyst. Working in a professional environment like Morgan Stanley will maximise my experience and understandings by carrying out a variety of tasks such as providing support on marketing and execution of IPOs, capital increases, or preparing analysis of transaction precedents. Responsibilities and involvements I take in will not only deepen my learning curve but also help me sharpen crucial business skills needed for the role as an Investment Banking & Global Capital Markets analyst.

My degree serves me well in ensuring me that I fully understand the fundamental elements of Maths, Economics, Finance and their practical applications in real life. Those subjects have provided me with opportunities to improve my team skills while working with other students, also to outline aims of the project, set out strategies and achieve certain goals. University’s group work and coursework (researching, gathering and interpreting data) have broadened significantly my experience with spreadsheet and technical programs. Besides, being a Vice President of the Vietnamese Society and having my part-time job whilst studying means that I am able to effectively manage different tasks at the same time and complete them successfully as given. Furthermore, working at HSBC and Deutsche Bank have allowed me to improve other skills such as communication, problem solving, critical thinking and negotiation with a wide range of people with all different requirements.

I hope that the experience and skills outlined above, the additional background information in my CV and my enthusiasm for working at Morgan Stanley will be of interest to you. I look forward to discussing my application with you in further detail. Thank you for your time and consideration.
