Sample cover letter for Full Time position at Morgan Stanley

POSITION:

Business Analyst

Dear Recruiter,

I graduated from University X in May 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance. I am seeking employment from a financial institution that is not only passionate about training new employees, but also shows a commitment towards contributing to their employees' future. I learned of this opportunity by utilizing University X's alumni services network and was interested in learning more about the opportunities Morgan Stanley has to offer.

Ever since I began learning the basic fundamentals of the stock market, I quickly developed a passion for analyzing and trading securities. It was not before long that I began trading through my own account; equipped with the knowledge I began to accumulate in the classroom and money I saved from working. Even though I put school first, I continued to maintain a respectable GPA and was still able to devote a considerable amount of time to my hobby.

The job description identifies the desire for applicants who possess strong analytic and quantitative skills, along with experience in competitive environments. My prior experiences have displayed my capacity to achieve each of these things. While attending University X, my accomplishments in the Investment Club have allowed me to maintain confidence when facing competitive situations. After two years of hard work and motivation, I was able to earn the title of Sector Head, placed in-charge of managing over $500,000 in real-assets and nine general analyst devoted to covering my sector.

I appreciate any assistance or advice that could be further provided to me about the program and look forward to having a chance to learn more details concerning the firm’s training program. I am excited about the possibility of beginning a career with Morgan Stanley.

Best Regards,
