Sample cover letter for Internship position at NBCUniversal

POSITION:

TV Production/Development Intern

Dear Internship Coordinator:

I am interested in applying for the TV Production/Development Intern position. I have experience through my work as a Production Intern at my local TV media center and from my academic success as a sophomore at USC. I am pursuing a career in entertainment and the skills I have developed from my work and academic background support my strong interest to join NBCUniversal.

There are milestones in my life that I owe to the company. Psycho enlightened me to the power of filmmaking and storytelling. Saturday Night Live planted the seed of my passion for comedy in middle school. Having no comedic writing or performance programs at my college, I founded a Comedy Club to create opportunities for students. NBCUniversal is the pinnacle for comedic entertainment and to be a part of it would be a childhood endeavor realized.

My experience at my local media center best prepared me for the intern position at NBCUniversal. As a Production Intern, I was entrusted with various post-production tasks for a talk show program, to include video editing and graphics. I coordinated directly with the host to ensure script elements were reflected in episodes through editing, served as studio camera operator, and assisted the set construction and lighting department as needed. I spearheaded a mini documentary project which is currently in post-production. These responsibilities taught me the importance of being diligent and thorough in a fast paced environment. My focus and aptitude allowed me to flourish in this context both independently and in team effort, and they will continue at NBCUniversal.

I am available May 18 – September 3 on weekdays in the New York or Universal City locations. Please contact me for an interview at your convenience by phone [555-555-5555] or e-mail at email@email.com. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
