Sample cover letter for Internship position at Ogilvy & Mather

POSITION:

PR Intern

GOT THE JOB? Yes

Dear Ogilvy & Mather PR Hiring Team,

After an ordinary networking dinner one day during a school break, I was sent home that night with my stomach full of noodles and a small red book called The Eternal Pursuit of Unhappiness. Inside this book was filled with the most delightful company philosophies that I wish all companies embraced but only one very unique one does. I would like to introduce myself; I am an eternally optimistic 22 year old who loves finding the new in the familiar, it keeps it interesting.

Through three years of PR internships during college, I exercised my creative thinking and problem solving muscle through helping executives brainstorm press strategies and pitch ideas to national and local media. These experiences fostered my ability to thrive in a fast paced environment, to think on my feet and to be an active problem solver. As an intern, I tend to jump right in and make it my mission to learn and offer support to as many people as possible from assistants to vice presidents. I learn not only through projects I am given but also through the experiences of those I help. I would be so excited to come into your office as an intern, I love a good challenge and lending my problem solving skills to my fellow co-workers and interns is thrilling and satisfying for me.

I would love to talk with you soon about how my skills could contribute to your current projects and to the Ogilvy & Mather culture. If you need more information or have any questions, please contact me at XX or XX.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration,

Best,

XX
