I am writing to express my interest in the position of Accounts Internship at your reputable institution as advertised. I am extremely interested in joining your dynamic team where I can develop my skills & knowledge and also hope to gain experience from professional and more experienced colleagues.

As a holder of CPA Part III and a B.COM (Accounting) from the University of Nairobi, I believe that this position is ideal for my qualifications and recent work experience. I also possess working knowledge of accounting software skills with hands on accounting and financial forecasting skills which are a plus for any Accountant.

In the recent past, I have had an industrial placement within the Finance Department of a leading parastatal in the energy sector. As an Accountant Assistant Intern at Rural Electrification Authority, I performed various functions including purchase order entry and inventory accounting. Besides processing monthly accruals, preparing cheques and producing payment vouchers, I also gained experience in reconciling bank statements as well as being responsible for processing all supplier invoices and handling payments to creditors on time.

I really believe this experience has prepared me for the industry and I would enjoy a discussion on how my experience will add value to your company.
