Brain Ahanotu has two years of experience in the nonprofit sector and has earned a Bachelor’s of Forestry and Wildlife from the University of Maiduguri. While working as a Program Assistant with the community health department of Traffina Foundation for Community Health, He helped improve maternal health outcomes of rural women in Abuja, Nigeria under various SRH MNCH projects funded by IPAS Nigeria, Medicaid radiology among others.

Working as a Program Assistant with Traffina foundation, Brian facilitated various sexual, reproductive and maternal health sensitization programs, male involvement in maternal health and providing rapid testing of HIV/AIDS for at risk youths in commuities where we worked. Brian is peer educator and counselor and has facilitated various fora on improving accessing to reproductive health services for youths while championing the rights of women to access contraceptive services through advocacy.

Brian’s focuses on eliminating stigma from health care providers towards people living with HIV/AIDS especially among pregnant women and women of reproductive age, and championing women empowerment, rights and equality.

Through these experiences, Brian has developed a strong understanding of the sexual and reproductive health needs of diverse groups including youths and FSW’s. Brian is proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools, strong report writing, presentation and interpersonal, project coordination and implementation skills, BCC programing knowledge and methods with strong capacity building skills.
