Sample cover letter for Full Time position at RCMP

Criminal Intelligence Analyst

Dear Sir/Madame,

I am very enthusiastic about the potential opportunity to assume a role as a Criminal Analysis Assistant to assist with research initiative and produce criminal intelligence and statistical analysis to serve the RCMP’s operational and administrative needs. I recognize that crime analysis has become an essential tool in our law enforcement’s efforts to enhance public safety, identify emerging trends, allocate resources, and plan crime-prevention strategies and therefore see value in being able to acquire professional experience in this field.

The two examples of work experiences outlined above are few of the many experiences I have acquired working at my firm that has allowed me to develop my ability to effectively communicate analytical findings to my engagement team and to translate such findings in an insightful manner to clients. My prior two roles involved performing quality assurance testing at two digital agencies which entailed testing website interfaces and functions to identify, and document steps to re-produce technical issues and to determine potential root causes for such issues. As a Criminal Analysis Assistant, my goal in this role would to be able to translate numbers and statistics into actionable insights, by analyzing investigative and intelligence data to identify, monitor and map crime trends, patterns, series, developments, offenders and criminal groups so that I can help provide factual conclusions to assist with the department’s decision making.

I would be very much appreciative of the opportunity to discuss my qualifications with you further for this role. Should you require any further information in the meantime please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for considering my application.
