Sample cover letter for Internship position at Random Company
Marketing
Dear Mr. Johns,
I am very interested in the communication manager position with Council on Foundations, and believe that my education background is appropriate for the position.
During my time at MIT, I have noticed my growing interest in marketing and public relations. Through out the years, I have taken on the marketing positions for a few school clubs. Most of my job involves virtually promoting activities and creating the design logo. After taking a couple digital photography and Photoshop classes, I was able to implement those skills with my business background to properly promote each club.
Over the summer, I was also able to work on my communication skills as a teaching assistant for MIT’s Interphase Edge. Interphase Edge is a summer program designed to prepare MIT’s incoming class for the rigorous school year. As a TA, I learned that mastering a subject is more than being able to solve problems, but being able to teach the material. In a classroom full of both visual and auditory learners, I needed to have a diverse system of teaching the curriculum. I did my best to always have a visual representation of most problems, while giving verbal explanations so that the entire room could benefit from each lecture. I knew my hard work paid off right after I saw substantial improvements from my students.
I believe that my experiences in marketing and interpersonal skills make me a prime candidate for this position. I am a diligent worker, and passionate about my work. I will be a valuable asset to your company and will use this as an opportunity to grow and further the development of my marketing skill set.
Sincerely,
