Sample cover letter for Full Time position at S&P

This is in reference to the MBA Associate opportunity posted on Cal Berkeley’s Haas Career website. I am submitting my application to grow my market research skills and experience in the financial investment industry. I believe S&P can offer the best, most dynamic experience available due to its size and scope.

My experience working my way up from a Financial Analyst to Manager within large international conglomerates, will make significant contributions to S&P. My transferable skills of collaborating with senior management and executives across multiple functions to strategize on future objectives such as M&A, entering emerging markets, product launches, and creating spin-off organizations, in addition to my great technical skills include creating multiple financial and business models from scratch to create rolling forecasts and budgets utilize for baseline analysis, and as a project lead, having managed multiple internal IT implementation projects, presenting the results, and driving adoption, while continuing to drive the financial strategy process are all skills I look to contribute and build upon at S&P.
