Sample cover letter for Internship position at Sberbank

POSITION:

Graduate Trainee Program

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for a Graduate Trainee Program at Sberbank in Moscow. As a worldwide leading bank, Sberbank provides a world-class training program. I am interested in this program as it provides a steep learning curve with a challenging, performance based culture. My affinity towards team and personal excellence, entrenched from rowing, gears me to thrive in the highly demanding industry. I believe the combination of my strong analytical ability and creative thinking will not only add value to the Sberbank graduate program but also to opportunities at Sberbank in the future.

I interned at Investcorp Bank in Bahrain, where I was part of the private equity team. During my training I was tasked with modelling and valuing companies along with conducting research assignments. My assignments required me to diligently gather information and think critically, so that I was able to present a usable insight to various members of the team. For instance, I analysed the oil price environment and presented possible impacts and their severities on oil sensitive portfolio companies.

Furthermore, I enjoy working closely with people, as seen from my private tutoring business. Working with students from different backgrounds has allowed me to build strong interpersonal skills, which I have transferred to my involvement in university club activities. Pursuing my passion for finance outside my course, I am a writer and editor for the University Network of Investing and Trading club. In my role I am responsible for researching, writing and editing articles that are used to help inform and educate other club members. Thank you for reviewing my application and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Yours Sincerely,
