Sample cover letter for Internship position at ScoopWhoop

POSITION:

content creation

Dear Recruiter / HR manager,

If I could show you my browser history (Oh God, The horror! ಠ_ಠ) just to show you my love for the internet, and how much time I spend on the interwebs, browsing posts through reddit, watching cat videos, keeping up with the Kardashians (I don't do that), and find out what's going viral, I would. I considered submitting the browsing history, but I thought a safer approach might be writing this cover letter, describing all the reasons why I'm a suitable candidate for a freshers position.

I finished giving my final exams not too long ago and have been looking for an interesting career opportunity . I'm interested in doing an internship or joining a freshers position in content creation or social media. Since I have very little professional experience in the field, I want to be considered inclining more towards an intern position. I might not have experience but I believe I make up for the qualities your company might be looking in person to hire him. I am a highly active and aware internet reader and spend most of my day surfing, downloading, sharing, reading and learning. So being wired-in isn't a problem for me as I already am from the moment i wake up, till the moment I go to sleep. I believe I can learn a lot at ScoopWhoop and offer a different point of perception. I stay updated and informed about the latest news and trends on the internet.I always find myself reading posts and content and thinking to myself "this will go viral tomorrow", And 1 or 2 days later find people posting the same content on Facebook or Twitter. I have ample knowledge in social media marketing and management, I’m well versed with Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest.

I am highly motivated towards working in a internet media company / viral lab. I knew this the kind of work I needed to do when BuzzFeed started going viral in 2013. I need an innovative environment that will push me and challenge me. My experience in management at a previous internship, combined with my courses and research in marketing, has convinced me that this opportunity is a career option I would like to explore.

The internet content media is settling it's feet in India, ScoopWhoop is one company which has succeeded in making a following and generating content which people like to consume. I'm an avid reader and look forward to posts everyday, I'm loving the "Baked" web series right now and look forward to every episode. The internet media bubble is about to burst in India, And I don't just want to be an average user sitting behind my screen and scrolling up and down when that happens, I want to grab this opportunity and make a mark. I want to contribute and play a role, no matter how small it is.

In March, 2015 I was offered a full-time job as relationship manager trainee in a Renewable energy and Solar energy optimization company (Offer letter available upon request), But I had to decline that offer due to some reasons. While at my previous internship and as a departmental head at the event organizing committee at college I learnt the importance of being cooperative, and working with the team.

I am willing to offer my time and my mind for work. I can work flexible hours for whatever role is provided to me. I am very excited to learn more about the company and contribute. I'd love to hear back from ScoopWhoop with a positive response, I hope.
