Sample cover letter for Internship position at Special Olympics

POSITION:

Internship

GOT THE JOB? Yes

Dear Ms. XXXX:

I am writing to you about the Games & Delegation Administration Internship that Special Olympics Florida is offering for the upcoming spring semester. As I mentioned in my email communication with you, I found out about this opportunity through a posting on Internships.com. Currently, I am advancing towards the completion of my Bachelors of Science degree in Sport Management at the University of Florida. Additionally, I plan on pursuing law school after I graduate.

I am interested in working with the Special Olympics in the spring because I believe that we can both benefit from one another. My solid communication skills, ability to learn quickly and apply it to new settings, and bright outlook will, in my opinion, help to further progress the success of the Special Olympics. Additionally, I believe that a previous experience of mine has positioned me to better work with the Special Olympics. During my final year of high school, I worked with students who had intellectual disabilities in a physical education class and can say that I learned much from it.

I have attached my resume for your review, which contains information on my both previous experience and current position. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this leadership position with you and to provide further information on my candidacy. I can be reached via my cell phone, XXX or by email at XXX. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you.
