Sample cover letter for Full Time position at State of Georgia

POSITION:

Training Facilitator

I would like to be considered for the position listed as Training and Development Specialist. My academic and diverse professional background has equipped me with essential skills to excel with your organization.

I received a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education and Behavior with a specialization in Community Health from the University of Florida. I developed a sound foundation in educating special populations on various health topics and focusing on living healthy lifestyles. I worked as a health educator for a nonprofit agency named the Center for Black Women’s Wellness Inc. During my time as health educator I was responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and evaluation of several programs and projects; more specifically, I coordinated the “Plain Talk” program. Plain Talk is a teen pregnancy prevention program that focused to empower the community to tackle teen pregnancy through intervention and education. I developed program curricula, program evaluation materials and facilitated the adult “Askable Adult” workshops. The curriculum consisted of formal lectures, group discussions and role plays. This position enabled me to fine tune my facilitation skills as I served approximately 90 adults and youth in group workshops and exercises that focused to equip them with the correct information, knowledge, skills and resources to help reduce teen pregnancy and the spread of STI and HIV/AIDS.

I currently work as a Communicable Disease Specialist for the State of Georgia and have been assigned to work with the Dekalb County Board of Health. I serve as the liaison between the Dekalb County Board of Health and all private care providers in Dekalb County. I have the pleasure of building strong relationships with providers to ensure adherence of state and local regulations related to disease reporting and accurate treatment. I also provide training upon request and/or need to health providers within the county to improve timeliness, completeness and validity of reports. Some additional essential duties for this position require that I identify, contact, and recruit high risk patients for participation in communicable disease education and prevention programs. I often provide health education to community organizations, schools, and groups aimed to reduce risky lifestyles and contracting communicable diseases.

Enclosed is my resume for your review. I am enthusiastic about the position and look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
