Sample cover letter for Internship position at Swire Group

POSITION:

Intern

Dear Hiring Manager,

Ref: Application for summer internship

I am --, a penultimate year student at the -- majoring in Computer Science. I have attended the Firmwide presentation at -- on September 26th and after a really constructive and informative sharing session with the John Swire and Son’s staff, I decided to apply for the internship as to my belief, my qualifications, skills and work experiences do satisfy the requirements of the firm.

I have previously interned at -- in the -- department and the -- department. During my internship at --, I had the opportunity to develop an application, using resources that were unknown to me, for one of the -- project and I had to learn in a very short time period how to make use of the resources. I was also assigned several duties related to other projects and I worked in a team compromising of marketing / finance officers, programmers and network engineers allowing me to develop the skills to work with technical as well as non-technical staff. On the other hand, my internship at the --- allowed me to gain more technical knowledge about networking and database management.

My previous work experiences allowed me to sharpen my analytical, decision-making, time management and communication skills while helping me broaden my thinking and process problems from various angles. Working at Swire Group would give me an opportunity to apply all my skills, knowledge and creativity to solve problems and to offer a fresh and different perspective in the financial industry.

Being open to new cultures and new experiences, I seek a career where I can have a global exposure, personal and intellectual growth and I believe that Swire Group offers the best environment to achieve this.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

--
