Sample cover letter for Internship position at The Refugee Center

POSITION:

Digital Marketing Strategist

GOT THE JOB? Yes

Dear Refugee Center,

I am writing in response to your job posting for the intern position for the summer of 2016.

Growing up in Anchorage Alaska I owned and operated my own mini donut stand. Running my own business provided me with great organizational skills and a strong ability to solve complex problems that I am now able to apply in both my academic and professional life. My entrepreneurial spirit combined with my passion for the outdoors led me to Montana State University where I am now perusing a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing.

Through out my career as an MSU business student I have been privileged enough to work with several local business in the Bozeman area where individually and in a team setting I have been able to create integrated marketing plans, marketing research reports, and digital media campaigns. These projects have given me the chance to combine creativity along with business insight to create poster ads, blog posts, social media campaigns, and organize company events.

I have also taken multiple information system courses where I have worked extensively with Microsoft excel, access, CRM and ERP software, and Wordpress. Currently I am taking a digital marketing course where I am learning to work with tools such as Facebook Insights, Google Adwords, Google analytics, and Google Trends to gain insight on online users in order to create the ideal online presence for a company. Working with these programs has given me the ability to quickly adapt to any office software and computer system.

In the spring of 2016 I will be graduating from Montana State University with a degree in business marketing. I would like to use the business skills I have acquired over the years along with my degree and apply them in a creative marketing internship.

I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to learn more about the internship with theRefugee Center, and how my qualifications might be the right fit for the job. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you.

Sincerely,
