Why Vine?

Twitter’s mission: To give everyone the power to create and share ideas and information, instantly, without barriers. I think it’s safe to assume that Vine has a similar mission but with short video clips instead of 140 character Tweets. According to some online research, 2 billion people in the world will have access to smartphones in 2016. Getting the opportunity to work at Vine will allow me to help in connecting these billions people with each other.

My Background

I believe that my experiences have adequately prepared me for a career with Vine. I started school off as a varsity division 1 athlete which taught me hard work, dedication, and persistence. Since the team was only 8 guys, we ate, practiced, studied and traveled together. These various experiences taught me how to be successful despite being a small team which aligns with working in a small team at Vine. Being a computer science major, I understand how technical products such as how Vine works. Throughout my courses and side projects, I have primarily focused on mobile applications working with other members on a team to build 3 apps since the start of college. In my previous internship, I worked with another developer to research various trends in the Apple Watch market, analyze competitor’s products, build use cases for the user, prototype the application, and finally code the product. At the conclusion of the internship, I presented the finished application and gave future recommendations to a VP of the corporation.

Why Me?

I have a diverse skill set and set of experiences that I think is very difficult to find in a candidate. Coming from a student-athlete background, I have the determination and grittiness to get the job done. Being a computer science major, I have the technical background to understand how the application works and to be able to work with engineers. I am also a very avid user of Twitter and Vine and am very passionate about the product. All in all, I think I have a very strong background and could be a very valuable asset for Vine.
