Dear UBS,

My name is Yuzhe Geng and I am currently a freshman at Colby College intending to double major

in Economics with Financial Market Concentration and Psychology. I was recently introduced to

your firm by a friend and was particularly impressed with your entrepreneurial mindset with

emphasis on client service of personalized asset and wealth management. I believe that my high

stress tolerance, communicative skills and ability to work within a team environment, combined

with my exposure to marketing and consumer insight would be a strong fit for UBS. Therefore, I am

writing to apply for the Emerging Talent Program internship in Zurich, Switzerland.

Prior to attending Colby, I worked as a sales assistant at China Branch of Standard Chartered Bank.

In this role, I learned a tremendous amount about capital markets, asset management, corporate

finance and risk management. As the leader of a 13 person cross-functional team tasked with

analyzing the sales strategies in Mainland China and developing mainland market for new services,

I honed a diverse set of communicative, consulting, strategic planning, analytical and project

management skills. Besides, the demanding time constraints taught me to work well in a high

pressure and fast paced environment.

I have also completed internship at Zinch.com in China as a marketing representative. My

experience collecting and sorting files and posting selected information online enabled me to have

the capacity to rapidly digest and synthesize information. Through my success at creating a positive

online presence, I managed to increase the firm’s visibility on popular social media outlets in China

such as Renren and Weibo.

In addition, I spent four months trading for my personal account over the last summer. Through

these experiences, I feel that I have substantial exposure to the markets and their trends and will

continue to learn how to use market orientation to my advantage.

The mission statement of Emerging Talent Program at UBS is closely aligned with my own

interests and work experience as evidenced by my volunteer work at China Social Welfare

Foundation. I believe that my education, experiences, energy and enthusiasm make me the best

candidate for the job. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss my qualifications with you in

person and learn more about UBS at your earliest convenience. If my background meets your needs,

I can be reached directly at +1-(217)-721-9007 or at ygeng@colby.edu. Thank you for your time

and consideration.

Sincerely,

Yuzhe Geng
