Sample cover letter for Internship position at UFAUMCG

POSITION:

Member

Dear Undergraduate Finance Association & Undergraduate Management Consulting Group,

I am writing this letter to request you a membership into your club. Walking down Sproul, I was bombarded by at least a dozen different business clubs throwing their club flyers at me. At first, I was leaning towards rushing a business fraternity, but after talking to your club members I realized that UFAUMCG was the group for me.

Being a junior transfer at Haas, not many clubs are very welcoming and transfer-friendly. However, the members of UFAUMCG were more than willing to make me and my fellow transfers feel welcome. A group of tight-knit individuals, like those of UFAUMCG, that are heavily focused on having successful futures and being the best that they can be, is just what I was missing in my Berkeley experience. The main thing that grabbed my attention was the fact that UFAUMCG was geared towards finance and management consulting. As someone who is interested in starting in management consulting and going into finance afterwards, this club is the perfect fit for me.

Obviously, you don’t want to let just anyone join your club, you want the best of the best. You’re looking for someone who can think outside of the box, juggle multiple tasks, and work well in collaboration with others. From what you can see on my resume, I embody all three of these characteristics; from spending most of my day pleasing customers while on the job, to holding three leadership positions at multiple organizations, to even starting my own business. All of these experiences have equipped me with life-long lessons that I’m eager to apply within UFAUMCG. I truly do believe that I can enhance the overall culture at your club.

Thank you for giving me the time and reading over my application. I am looking forward to hearing back from you, and am looking forward to what the future has in store for us!

Best Regards,
