Sample cover letter for Full Time position at Uber

Operations and Logistics Manager

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in the operations and logistics manager position in Sydney, Australia. I have recently finished my MBA at Regents University in London, England- where I received the American equivalency of First Class Honors (3.89 GPA). I believe that my extremely strong work ethic, attention to detail, and analytical skills would add value to your operations at Uber, and make me a strong candidate for this position. While I am applying directly to the operations manager position in Sydney, I am open to working in an operations role in London where I am currently based, or even relocating elsewhere if needed.

As detailed in my attached CV, I moved from the US to London immediately after receiving my bachelor’s degree in pursuit of my masters in order to fine tune my knowledge of business and better align myself with my career goals. Though this may not have been a traditional move in terms of education or career path, I have a history of seeking diverse, unusual, and demanding experiences and postgraduate school abroad has been no exception. What I lack in experience, I make up for in drive, educational knowledge, and passion.

I’m extremely passionate about Uber’s work, and spent two months of my graduate school career researching the company and its effect on the marketplace for a term paper in Managerial Economics. Uber’s ability to utilize analytical data and basic economic theory to sufficiently serve demand at any given point while minimizing the likelihood of zeroes seems to be unmatched by competitors. Your company, without a doubt, has revolutionized the marketplace, and the chance to join your team would be a tremendous opportunity. I believe I have the skills and work ethic to be a valuable asset and team member in this period of company growth.

I would greatly appreciate the chance to discuss your specific needs and how I could meet them. Thank you for taking the time to review my application, I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,
