Sample cover letter for Full Time position at University of Houston

POSITION:

IT Trainer

I am writing in reference to job opening 00300975, Technology Trainer I. I graduated Cum Laude from University of Chicago- Main Campus with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems and am currently a graduate student at the University of Houston -Downtown. While enrolled I worked in the Admissions IT department, which included duties such as query writing, creating test plans, and student worker training. I am well versed with Tableau, R, and have used Snagit/Acrobat Pro to create PeopleSoft training manuals, as well as Visio for work flow and database diagrams.

Along with technical skills, I have over 5 years of customer service experience, retail and restaurant. This has allowed me to build a foundation of techniques to connect with people of different backgrounds. While a graduate student I have tutored UH undergraduates in Java programming, database modeling, project management, and system security; I enjoy explaining technical topics to non-technical individuals.

Considering my background, I am confident that I am well suited for the technology trainer position. I would like the opportunity to discuss this job opportunity further in person, at your convenience.
