I am a 5th year Graduate Student, Organic Chemistry major, interested in the summer internship position in Medicinal Chemistry in your company. I have completed my Bachelors in Pharmacy, in 2011, from XXXX which is a renowned institute in XXXX. I have gathered scientific knowledge about pharmaceutical chemistry and biotechnology through the extensive coursework in the Pharmacy program making me suitable for undertaking medicinal chemistry related research.

I am currently enrolled in the Ph.D. program at XXXXX Department of Chemistry. At Prof.XXX Research Group, I got thoroughly trained in the methodology and skills of synthetic wet lab chemistry. I have been working towards the organic synthesis of complex carbohydrate molecules for the past 4 years and I have gained expertise in large scale, multistep organic synthesis as well as various purification and analytical techniques.

I wish to contribute to the pharmaceutical and biotech world by being a part of the research division of a leading pharmaceutical company like XXXXX. I believe my scientific knowledge, technical skill set, experience and dedication would make me an asset to XXXXX. This internship opportunity will also help me gain an insight into the Research and Development in an industrial environment.
