Dear Internship Coordinator,
My name is and I am extremely interested in the spring internship in marketing at Viacom that I learned about looking through online internship database, Lion Jobs. I am an undergraduate Communication Studies major and Business Administration minor in my fourth year and am confident that with my experience, dedication, and passion for the entertainment industry and marketing, I will be an excellent fit for the position. My past experiences have provided me with the ability to think creatively in order to strategically market Viacom and its brands, which is especially important in the entertainment industry.
While I was a PR Intern at Stanton & Company, I learned how to write and send press releases, maintain product inventory, build media lists using Cision. With this experience I could assist in creating lists of journalists that the company would be able to collaborate with. I also assisted in conducting market research for the company’s clients using social media, which would allow me to help Thunderbolt in attain a greater presence on social media. Through this experience in a collaborative environment, I became familiar with the business of Public Relations and Marketing and started to develop an interest in marketing. As a Dell Campus Representative for Mosaic Sales Solutions, I developed an understanding of how to market Dell products to students and staff, which improved the perception of Dell on a campus filled with primarily Apple users. I know that I can bring my knowledge of marketing along with sales get the company’s name out in the technology world as well as obtain new clients in the process.
This internship would be an invaluable opportunity for me to apply my skills as a communications and business student, while learning more about the marketing side of the entertainment industry.
