Sample cover letter for Internship position at WFP

POSITION:

Media Team Communication Division

Dear Human Resources Manager,

I am very interested in applying for your internship position with the WFP Media Team Communication Division. I have recently graduated from University of Roma Tre with a Masters degree in International Relations. During my academic studies I have thoroughly enjoyed and succeeded in my Public Communication, Sociology of Communication and Media Research classes. These courses have introduced me to communication strategies and to the value of effective communication through all forms of media exchange.

I have a strong passion for working towards the achievement of sustainable development, peace, justice and human rights. I also really enjoy the day to day interaction with people of different cultures and highly committed on projects that have clear and tangible outcomes in fighting hunger worldwide. So I believe that an internship with the World Food Programme would be a great opportunity to expand my knowledge of food and humanitarian aid, while at the same time a chance to develop my skills and experience in the media and communication fields.

I strongly believe in the vision of World Food Programme and therefore it would be an honor to contribute to your mission through an internship.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my application and I look forward to hearing from you and discussing the position and my qualifications in greater details.

Yours sincerely,
