Sample cover letter for Internship position at Warner Bros. Pictures Canada

POSITION:

Campus Representative

To whomever this may concern,

Recommended by your current University of Toronto campus representative, Monica Taccogna to apply for this position, it is with excitement and great enthusiasm that I submit my application for the position of University Campus Representative for Warner Bros. Pictures Canada at Ryerson University.

As you can see from my attached CV, I have recently graduated from Carleton University School of Journalism and Communications where I received a bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Film Studies, and am now pursuing a second degree in Journalism at Ryerson University. As a recent communications graduate and student with a desire to work in the film industry, I believe that my diverse background, the knowledge and unique skills built up during this time make me the ideal candidate for the role of campus representative with Warner Bros. Pictures Canada.

What particularly interests me about the position is the opportunity to work within one of world’s leading entertainment companies, whose films have had such a strong, and admirable influence on the way I view cinema and production. A majority of my favorite films, like the Harry Potter series and Casablanca, are films produced by Warner Bros. To put it simply, I’m a long-time, massive Warner Bros. fan.
In addition to being a reliable, fun and flexible candidate, I find that I thrive most in a creative, energetic and discerning environment. Prior to my position with The Hollywood Reporter, I was highly involved in the marketing industry, working for companies like XL Lifestyle and CampusVacations, where I acted in a leadership role of marketing and sales in both individual and team-oriented environments.

My previous employers, who have quickly promoted me to positions of greater responsibility, have recognized my high degree of motivation. During my time with CampusVacations, I was promoted from campus representative to operations manager after only one year, and held that position until I graduated from Carleton University.

As an achievement oriented candidate, I am certain that I will be more than just an asset to Warner Bros. Canada, and this is primarily due to my skills, perspective on hard work, and internal drive for results. I will bring an unmatched interest, dedication and desire to further contribute to your team. I appreciate your consideration and look forward to meeting with you to discuss my application further.

Sincerely,
Me
