Sample cover letter for Internship position at Wonderful Machine

POSITION:

Graphic Designer

I’m contacting you in regards to the Graphic Design position for Wonderful Machine advertised on Craigslist on June 17, 2014. I am very interested in communicating with you and discussing aspects of the position.

To begin, yes- I am a student, so I may not be the ideal candidate you are looking for. I wanted to reach out to you because after reading about the position further, I feel I would be a great addition to you company, even if only as a part-time intern. As a graphic design student, I am always looking for opportunities to get my foot in the door and become a part of the industry in a professional way. Wonderful Machine interested me a great deal as I read the specifications of the job and I feel as if we could be a great fit.

My relevant qualifications include my current pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design and minor in Marketing at Drexel University. Branding and print design have become passions of mine over the past two years and I find myself constantly sketching ideas to bring into Illustrator and Photoshop.

My background in design and the graphic arts industry help to make me a worthy candidate for your team. I am currently the graphic designer for Facetime Theatre and manage all of their designs for promotional material and am also responsible for their new logo.

Also of note is my current position as an associate and lead cashier for American Eagle Outfitters. In this role, I am responsible for driving sales and results to meet goals for the store. During my time as a lead cashier, I was also responsible for managing a team of associates on the registers during peak hours.

I feel that my qualifications and experience will make me a worthy candidate and a great addition to your team. If you would like, I also have references available upon request.

Thank you for your time. I hope to hear from you soon.
