Sample cover letter for Full Time position at World bank

POSITION:

Financial Specialist

I am applying for the position of Financial Specialist at your esteemed organisation. I hold a Masters’ degree in Finance & Investments as well as a Masters degree in Business Administration. Prior to that, I first graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. Currently I am working for the US SECZ in the Corporate Finance and Market development Department. I am actively involved in Financial Consumer and Investor Protection issues. I strongly believe that financial consumer protection is a necessary precursor to building trust in the formal financial sector and thus in encouraging financial inclusion. While increased access can result in significant economic and societal benefits, it can be neutral or even harmful if consumers cannot exercise their rights as consumers, cannot select the financial products that suit them best; and are not protected from mis-selling, fraud and other forms of market abuse.

My main responsibilities include raising awareness to current and potential investors on capital market operations, educating them on their rights and responsibilities as well as forging partnerships with key stakeholders which include: Government agencies, Donor Community and Financial institutions with the aim of developing financial literacy programmes for the entire populace. The main aim is to capacitate consumers so that they can act confidently, effectively and responsibly when consuming financial and investment products and services.

For the World Bank Group, financial inclusion represents a core topic, given its implications in alleviating extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity, a vision which I strongly subscribe to. The increased emphasis on financial inclusion reflects a growing realization of its potentially transformative power to accelerate development gains
