Sample cover letter for Internship position at credit suisse
Dear Madam, Sir,
Currently studying in both University of Paris VI and EISTI (major in mathematics) in Cergy, I am interested in doing Equities-Sales, Trading and structuring Summer Intern programme at Credit Suisse starting in 2016. Indeed, I am really impressed by the various strengths of your company. More especially by your reputation to be a prestigious equity house with high standards, Credit Suisse salespeople are known to have a clear understanding of the investment style and needs of each client and consider each of its clients as unique in providing tailor-made financial services. It substantiates that Credit Suisse belongs to the main Investment Banking actors in the UK thanks to its international reputation and its strong capacity to customize product flow and identify opportunities for clients seeking to improve their investment returns. Besides, I will be keen to work in a entrepreneurialism and teamwork environment like yours, where the culture aims at making sure that analysts are better exposed to the top management and senior businessmen.
In my opinion, an applicant for a summer internship in the field of Sales & Trading must possess certain specific qualities and skills. First, he or she requires the ability to work for long stretches of time in a stressful environment. I believe I am able to do this. Indeed, both my academic career and my sporting experience demonstrate my ability to prevail in stressful situations whilst maintaining maximum efficiency and guaranteeing results. My two intense years in Classe Préparatoire and my achievements in swimming illustrate this ability. Furthermore, a summer intern needs to be results-driven, as he or she must work with several people whilst not losing sight of the main objectives and provide marketcolor to clients. My experience in the IT service of Schneider Electric International demonstrates that I am highly results-driven having developed a new information system for Schneider in the African and Caribbean regions helping to develop the business in these areas. The ability to be multi task is also a vital quality for a summer intern in Sales and Trading. Studying and doing sport at national level was a good opportunity for me to succeed both at school and in swimming. This year I went to the national championship and I passed the Baccalauréat.
My educational curriculum from a Business School, an Engineering School and the University of Paris VI has enabled me to develop my knowledge in both corporate finance and markets finance. This opportunity offered by a dual degree allows me to develop my skills in corporate finance, financial mathematics and programming. Given my education and professional experiences, I believe that I am a particularly good fit for the Investment Banking Summer Intern programme in Sales and Trading. It will be a real opportunity to give me a unique insight in the world of banking. Hence, this position will get me down to business, learning how your business area works and how your different teams operate. I thank you in advance for the attention that you may bring to my application.
