Sample cover letter for Internship position at deloitte

POSITION:

advisory

Dear Hiring Manager:

I am writing to express my sincere interest in the Internship of Federal Tax at Chicago Summer 2016. I am a junior (senior standing) at the University of Illinois studying accountancy and will graduate with the master degree in May 2017. I am interested in this position because I want to pursue a career in the profession in tax.

I am uniquely qualified for this Summer Federal Tax Intern position based on the following experience and skills:

  • I contacted clients informing their mid-year tax liabilities based on reports and guided them through filing returns each month using government required online system during the internship this past summer in my hometown.
  • I have been volunteering under IRS-SPEC to help file individual tax returns for the Champaign County community.
  • I work efficiently and effectively not only when doing individual research but also when leading team collaborations of different case competitions.
  • I recently planned and led the event Intern Panel Discussion and hit the highest attendance rate among all previous similar events hosted by my involved organization.
  • I have devoted myself to become one of the tax professionals since I was young under the influence of my father who has worked as a government taxation officer all his life.

I am self-motivated and willing to learn. I constantly push my boundary to think outside the box. Good time management skill also ensures my academic excellence and allows me to take a step further than the original plan. As a result, I am ready for any unexpected situation, just like what differentiates the KPMG Tax team, “people thinking beyond”.

Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.
