This summer I worked as an IT Auditor Intern at the Ontario Ministry of Finance. I was tasked with finding inefficiencies and risks in a large-scale multi-year IT infrastructure projects with budgets of $100+ MM. I analyzed project financials, status reports, and other project controls to draft interim audit reports that provided detailed information discussing inadequate processes and proposed action plans to mitigate risks. Recommendations from the reports were implemented by project leadership, and saved several months of delay in the project schedule and in budget.

My academic studies have allowed me to broaden my knowledge in statistics, and software development. I have used statistical analysis extensively this current academic term to model simulation processes in a manufacturing setting. Also, I am the project leader for my Design and Analysis of Information Systems Course and have effectively managed a project team of five people to create a consumer information web application. This position requires me constantly facilitate interaction with team members to ensure the group is working in a functional team environment. Furthermore, I applied technical skills such as Java, SQL, Microsoft Excel and Access to ensure project deliverables are completed on time and to requirements.

Outside of the classroom, I am also the Finance Vice President for the Institute of Industrial Engineers University of Toronto Chapter. I have obtained the most sponsorship (over $9,000 and counting) in the organization’s history and have consequently planned our most ambitious year, organizing new events and competitions for the student community.
