Sample cover letter for Internship position at edward jones

To Whom It May Concern:

In response to the recent posting in The University of Arizona’s career services JobLink, please consider my resumé in your search for one-day externship candidates. I am currently a sophomore at the University of Arizona in the Pre-Business program under the Eller College of Management. I am on track to double major in Finance and Entrepreneurship and from there pursue a Master’s degree in Accounting. I was excited to see the opening for an externship within Edward Jones for this upcoming winter season. I believe that my current skillsets and work experience are a great fit for this unique one-day experience. Following my participation in this externship, I believe I would greatly strengthen myself as a future potential candidate for such a prestigious company as Edward Jones.

My background includes hands on experience with accounting and financial planning principles through the start up of my own entertainment company as well as the ability to learn quickly and a thirst for knowledge. My experience as an entrepreneur has driven me to think more critically as well as make calculated financial decisions in the business world. Through this experience, I have also started personal investing through retirement accounts, mutual funds, and both foreign and domestic stocks. I hope to continue to pursue a career in the financial industry and hold Edward Jones as a dream company for myself.

I truly believe that I am qualified for this opportunity and that I could bring not only a strong financial background, but also a work ethic that fits the demand for a company like Edward Jones. I appreciate the consideration for this opportunity and will contact you within the next few days to follow up. I am available for an interview at any time this week and look forward to this potential opportunity.
