I am a graduate student studying Mechanical Engineering at Columbia University, and I am applying for the Mechanical Engineering Intern position for summer 2015. Intel has always been a source of inspiration to me because of its commitment towards creating new platforms for technological development. The New Devices group would be an excellent fit for my interests and skill set, and I would be honoured to be a part of this organization.

I have extensive experience working with CAD tools to design Solar Panels, emergency phone chargers, and mechanical components for Solar Cars. I have also worked with the in house design team at IBM’s Watson Lab to fabricate and test customised annealing tools for their research scientists. Working on these tools also gave me the opportunity to apply my understanding of heat transfer mechanisms and fluid dynamics. My coursework has covered FEA Analysis with COMSOL, Design for Assembly, Design for Manufacturing, Design and Fabrication of MEMS Actuators, Pressure Sensors, and Accelerometers, and analytical modelling of thermal systems with MATLAB.
