I am interested in applying for the Investment Banking Summer Analyst Programme. The idea of working at a leading investment bank such as Goldman Sachs appeals to me greatly; with a 36.5% market share in the UK, it holds the number one rank.

At Cass Business School, I am currently pursuing a BSc. (Hons) Investment and Financial Risk Management. This term the focus of my course has remained on Financial Econometrics, Mathematical Finance, Financial Services Marketing and Security Analysis. I believe that this Summer internship opportunity at Goldman Sachs is instrumental for understanding classroom concepts and their application in the real world.

I am aware that Goldman Sachs advised Nycomed in what was one of the largest cross-border M&A transactions this year; the $13.7 billlion acquisition of Switzerland’s Nycomed by Japan’s Takeda Pharmaceuticals. Goldman Sachs also emerged as one of India’s top M&A advisers after the Reliance Industries and BP deal. With a strong global market position and the company’s financial expertise, Goldman Sachs is powerful enough to remain a market leader even in the future; a future that I wish to be a part of. I feel this is the environment in which I see myself achieveing my maximum potential.
