Sample cover letter for Internship position at goldman sachs

POSITION:

summer internship analyst

Dear Sir/Madam,

Re: Application for Summer Internship

I am writing to discuss my interest in gaining work experience within the finance sector. I am currently an undergraduate at the Goldsmiths University in my 1st year studying for Economics, politics and public policy

Being one of the country’s prestigious property companies with a solid business reputation, it would be an excellent opportunity for me to gain valuable work experience. Working alongside one of your expert teams I would be able to showcase my skills, develop my knowledge and expand on my experience within the industry. This will ultimately enable me to further pursue a career in finance.

I am interested in shadowing some of the surveyors and developing my understanding of the profession, and what you look for in their graduates. I am willing to assist the surveyors to help out wherever possible and as previously, would be willing to aid the team obtaining comparables for valuations and drafting reports, amongst other things.

I look to take the initiative offered by an internship, which allows you to work with more senior colleagues as well as graduates. Such initiative is intrinsic to my work ethic and has been demonstrated on numerous occasions including, but not limited to my promotion from an administrative role to the acquisitions team in the Jaipur Group, as a result of some work I conducted independently. In addition, researching consolidated my belief that you should understand a business sector before working with it. This importance on understanding a clients’ sector.

As I am sure you are aware, the competition is extremely tough at the moment and the number of vacancies is outstripping the number of graduates. I hope to gain a better understanding from this experience of what you look for in their graduates, and which branch of the organisation would best suit my skills.

If you would like me to come in for an interview, I would be more than happy to do so and I have attached a copy of my C.V. for your interest.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Yours sincerely,
