Sample cover letter for Internship position at goldman sachs

POSITION:

consultant

I have chosen to apply to Goldman Sachs because I want to expose myself to the opportunities provided at one of the world’s top investment banks. I feel that the strong teamwork culture will enable me to learn so much from other individuals and develop my professional skills. I have discovered a lot from meeting Charlotte Connaughton and understand Goldman Sachs provides you with excellent training and the chance to work with brilliant people who invest in you and strongly value your opinion. This is a business environment that I feel would be hard to find anywhere else and one where I would feel continuously challenged.

I specifically want to spend my placement year in the finance division after having developed a keen interest for the financial aspect of business since starting my degree. Living and studying in Seoul for 3 years fuelled my desire to travel, and a financial career for such a globalised company would provide me with the best opportunities to work in international markets. I thrive in a fast pace environment and feel that Goldman Sachs would be the perfect place for me to explore the finance industry whilst also developing key analytical skills.

As a highly driven individual, I strive to achieve new goals such as fulfilling the role of Social Secretary for the Cass Marketing Society. I effectively co-operate with my team of Masters students to keep the society’s dynamic audience engaged and educated by organising a range of events on a monthly basis. Catering for customers with very high expectations at Luton Hoo enforces me to focus on fine details in order to produce high quality events. Working in a demanding environment has also taught me how to efficiently manage any unexpected problems and quickly find the most effective solution.
