Sample cover letter for Internship position at iadb

This letter is to express my interest in an internship at the Inter-American Development Bank Jamaica.

The goals of the IDB in Jamaica are very much in line with my personal interests to serve Jamaica by assisting in the development of our local economy through by assisting to create an environment suitable for economic growth. I am particularly interested in projects focused on private firms and SME development as I believe that the key to improving our economy is through the development of local industry.

I believe that I will be an asset to the IDB as I am a very detailed and goal oriented person, adept at problem solving. In addition, I am able to work in several countries, namely the US, the UK (European Union) and West Africa (ECOWAS countries) because of my multi-national background.

Apart from my first degree (2010) in International Business and Marketing from Georgetown University in Washington DC, I studied Law at UWI Mona and have a Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School (September 2015). My passion is decidedly for international business and marketing but my legal studies have further prepared me for positions in research/analysis, risk management or compliance. I would be happy to work wherever my skills can be best utilized.

I am confident that I am well suited to contribute to the continued progress of the IDB. My personal and professional development have ensured that I am able to excel in any position that requires hard work, enthusiasm and reliability.
