Sample cover letter for Internship position at jp morgan

POSITION:

Business analyst

I have been fascinated by IB particularly ever since I had my first investing hands-on experience in the investment group. Discussing proposals and reasoning mine against more experienced master’s students, made me feel a strong inner drive to excel. As it is vital ingredient to a successful career, I decided to do an internship in similar field – corporate banking, to discover the very same drive in more professional setting.

During the internship in DNB Bank I was working throughout the whole process of providing financial leasing. Prime competence that I have developed was my problem-solving ability. Often, clients were not initially eligible to get desired financing. However, after analyzing particular entity (which required decent numerical ability) I communicated alternatives of the financing structure (down payment, collateral, loan subordination etc.) to the client, which enabled many entities to obtain the lease. My internship mentor emphasized my comprehension and retention to be excellent, as he believed writing full leasing proposals was out of the scope of the intern program.

As I have no doubt in J.P. Morgan’s prestige, intellectual capabilities and ability to deliver their clients top-tier service, my motivation to apply here also stems from other spheres, which are more specific to J.P. Morgan.

I had an opportunity to attend a presentation in my campus given by various employees from J.P. Morgan, such as EMEA M&A team members and campus recruiters. During the informal part of the event (after the presentation) I talked to several employees (mostly to Philip Green, campus recruiter), who gave me quite good sense of the atmosphere among the colleagues and their attitude towards the intern which is are healthy and supportive. I thrive in such environment, where I can approach anyone, for suggestions or help, without hesitation and be sure to get benevolent answer.
