Sample cover letter for Internship position at pratt and whitney

POSITION:

analyst

I am a junior at the University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Operations and Information Management with a minor in Information Technology. I look forward to the possibility of completing an internship in London to gain experience in consulting, sales and international business while also experiencing a historically rich, global city.

I have always been drawn to London. Its architecture, history and culture have fascinated me since I was young and that interest only grew as I became more interested in business. London is known as a global powerhouse and I want to gain as much experience as I can in such a competitive and diverse city. I aspire to better the world around me and serve people on an international level. I want to bring different cultures together and expand businesses across the world in order to help people reach success. Interning in such a diverse city in any business field will give me an education unlike any I could receive at a university and will ultimately help me reach my career goals as a well rounded, global businessperson.

My education thus far has helped prepare me for an internship in London. Some classes that I have taken include Manufacturing and Service Operations Methods, Business Intelligence and Analytics, and Corporation Finance. I have also gained experience through working for small businesses. This past summer I was assigned to organize and manage a 10-week horseback riding competition schedule for 13 clients and horses. I was tasked with organizing transportation, booking hotels, as well as keeping track of equipment while on the road. In addition, I logged a daily fitness regimen for each horse, as well as collaborating with other employees to keep track of administered supplements and medication, all while operating in fast paced, changing environments.

In addition, I formed close relationships with the clients and consulted with them on how to reach their goals. In the past 9 months, I successfully matched 7 clients with new horses by taking their goals, ability level and budget to analyze the best fit for each rider. By communicating with other professionals, I was also able to market and sell a few horses of my own. My most recent sales success was selling a horse for nearly 5 times its initial investment price. I consider myself to be hard working, organized and ambitious and I thrive in environments that are fast paced and constantly changing. I hope to take what I have learned through my coursework and job experience and apply it to an internship that will allow me to develop my skills in a sales, consulting, or marketing position. With these experiences and skills, I will be able to jump right into any project presented to me.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. It would be a pleasure to intern in such an amazing city and gain invaluable experience. Please feel free to contact me at the above email or phone if you have any questions.
