Sample cover letter for Internship position at see ability

POSITION:

intern

23rd July 2016

To Nick,

Re: Marketing Assistant (Content and Social Media)

I am writing in response to the post of the Marketing Assistant advertised on LinkedIn. I am currently studying a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Management at the University of Portsmouth, and believe I would be an ideal candidate for this position at See Ability as I have the necessary experiences and personality that you are seeking to fulfil this exciting opportunity.

I have recently completed marketing work experience for a local charity. This broadened my knowledge of the importance of marketing communications and I am very proud that some of my ideas were implemented by the marketing department. I created job advertisements and promoted them across social media and the charity’s website. I also updated the charity’s website and social media sites to be more appealing and capture a larger audience to increase website traffic. Furthermore I researched and provided the charity with local competitors and sponsors that have high corporate social responsibility (CSR) that can be used by the fundraising team to gain more sponsorship. I received excellent feedback from White Lodge Centre. I also volunteered at one of the main fundraising events for the charity, and used Mail Chimp to help create content for the monthly email.

Whilst studying at University, I have studied units including Marketing Communications Development and an Innovations Development Project. During my Marketing Communications unit I conducted extensive research into Coca-Cola’s ‘Share a Coke’ Campaign and critically analysed the brands performance, including sales and the usefulness of their social media accounts during the campaign. Throughout the Innovations Development Project, I created my own product through innovative thinking and thorough research to ensure my product was unique, efficient, and cost effective to produce and aesthetically appealing to the consumer. Making decisions on the price, production and implementation of social networks for communication was essential during this project. Studying these units along with my marketing work experience has sparked my interest and passion for marketing communications within businesses, such as See Ability.

It would be a privilege to work for See Ability as I have a strong work ethic and I am ambitious to succeed in all that I do. Gaining valuable experience from this internship would expose me to different areas of marketing that I can carry forward into my future career. Along with my knowledge, skills and fresh mind-set towards the business sector, specifically marketing, I would diligently contribute further to See Ability’s success.

Thank you for reading my application and considering me as a candidate.

Yours sincerely,
