Sample cover letter for Internship position at shell

POSITION:

researcher

Dear Sir/Madam

I take this opportunity to introduce myself as abc, 4th year dual degree student of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, xyz college. I am seeking for an internship in your prestigious and reputed organization for the period of May-July 2016. During the course of my studies I have developed great interest in the field of applied thermo-fluids and I am sure that my qualifications and experience will enable me to fulfil your expectations. I worked as a Summer Intern at Engineering Research Centre, pqr during May–July 2015. The internship provided me an industrial exposure with the live project and work with the experts in the area of Computational Fluid Dynamics. I worked on Aerodynamic Analysis of MIRA Reference Car to update knowledge base. Then I optimised the diffuser and rear design to enhance the aerodynamic performance of werwe. The design was implemented in the launched model.

Currently I’m working on “Natural Circulation Loops using Liquid Carbon dioxide” as my B.Tech. Project. My role is to develop a model for heat transfer using liquid Carbon dioxide circulation loop by carrying out transient state analysis using FLUENT and then validate the results experimentally.

I am conscientious in my personal and professional life. I take pride in myself and my work, and derive considerable satisfaction from doing an assignment well. I cope well with high-stress situations and can manage a variety of projects simultaneously. I am confident that with my analytical skills, undergraduate experience and strong motivation to excel I will be able to live up to the rigors of this position.

I am looking forward to making my contributions at Shell. I would welcome the opportunity for a personal interview to further discuss my worthiness.

Sincerely

ABC
