I am writing to apply for the position of Process Engineer which I saw advertised on PeroxyChem’s website. I am very interested in this job because it involves working in a chemical plant and it is situated in the city of Prince George which also interests me. With my skills and past work experience, I would make a suitable candidate for this position.

I recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Alberta. Over my last year of schooling, I was able to complete two design projects which allowed me to improve my team working and leadership skills. I undertook a leadership role during these projects and dealt with all group conflicts by having individuals voice their concerns and then resolving the issue in a professional manner. During my time as a Landscaper, I was able to plan and manage several projects to completion and within deadline. This experience allowed me to gain both oral and written communication skills which were developed by relaying information to clients. My time as a Research Assistant allowed me to gain analytical skills through interpreting data, reporting and collecting information. The paper I developed during this time was used by students at the University of Alberta taking Heat Transfer courses. My ability to work well with others is proven through my many long-lasting friendships developed with past workmates. I have visited the city of Prince George many times before due to my relatives that live there. I always enjoy my time there and so relocation would not be a problem for me.
