RE: Manager, Development and Outreach

I’m writing to apply for the position of Manager, Development and Outreach, at the

United States Capitol Historical Society, advertised on Idealist.org

I have been passionate about the spread of democracy and freedom around the world

through international development, and human rights advocacy ever since I realize the

impact I can make as a global citizen during my time spent in Chengdu, China as a

student. My time in China had seen me plan, implement, evaluate and report on programs

that provided sustainable local development.

I have a strong academic grounding in criminal justice, health, project management,

education and African/ European /South East Asia studies, having completed a Bachelor

of Arts (Criminal Justice). I have a strong professional experience in grants and content

management systems, e-newsletters and social media through my academic work in

computer, and managing content work for g-MEO China.

I possess excellent organizational skills and an ability to maintain the big picture while

attending to details and logistics. I am an excellent communicator, with an ability to

manage teams of people from diverse background; and I remain calm and positive under

pressure, especially in what can be difficult or traumatic situations.

My life has been driven by a strong passion to alleviate the suffering of disadvantaged

people around the world. I believe in a safer world. I would love to play an integral part

in enacting that.

My resume is attached and I look forward to being able to discuss the position with you

further.

Kind regards

Georgia Manu
