Dear Miss Lillhage,

With this letter I want to apply for the position as Trainee Creative Sales. In September 2014 I successfully graduated from the University of Applied Sciences (WAM) in Dortmund, Germany, with a Diploma in Marketing and Communications. My mayor subject was Public Relations in combination with Hybrid TV Series.

Why would I like to work at United Screens?

Swedish media industry and technology have reached an outstanding position in Europe. Swedish TV-series, movies, literature and music are critically acclaimed by different target groups in Germany. United Screens, as one of the leading companies, ties these sectors together by creating a mutual, moneymaking, fun and entertaining platform. Moreover, United Screens has an outstanding position in the Swedish media industry due to its trend-setting business approaches and vanguard role. Because of these reasons I’m highly interested in the traineeship.

Based on profound research of the entertainment sector at the crossroads to marketing for my diploma thesis, I am certain that the future of movies and series on youtube.com lies in the abandonment of distinctions made up by country boundaries. Production companies that switch to a European clip will be the prosperous ones because when a video proves to be of high quality people across countries might hear about it and watch it. The Swedish YouTuber Pewdiepie seems to be an adequate example.

Why should you choose me? What are my strengths?

While studying I gained insight into TV-making and online video productions, such as for YouTube and various social media sites, both theoretically and practically. For my thesis I developed a PR-concept based on a fictitious TV-series for the German web and pay TV market including Hybrid Technologies. The concept was considered by Christoph Fisser, owner of Studio Babelsberg and producer of Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds.

One and a half years ago, I completed an internship at the German parliament in Berlin. During that time, I worked on different marketing plans and proposals for online video communications. Along the way I scripted and produced several advertisements for the German liberal party and for the former Member of Parliament, Michael Kauch. In addition, I developed ideas and pathways regarding the distribution of YouTube videos.

Aside from these experiences, I created several personal video footages, which you can watch on my vimeo account (to be found in my CV). Also, I have been working on several creative concepts for the film and entertainment industry. Recently I started working with a dji-inspired one drone for creative and commercial movie making. Last year, I attended a Swedish language course to gain language knowledge in grammar and vocabulary. Besides that I’m speaking fluent German and English. Personally, I am highly motivated, empathetic and resilient. You will find my CV attached.
