Flatiron Books collaborated with the MindSumo community to come up with the book: “Freshman Year of Life”, a collection of essays for recent graduates by podcasters, writers, actors, and other people a few years out of college. Flatiron Books wants to get people excited about the book and encourage pre-order sales before the pub date. We have a landing page where people can buy the book before it comes out in April and we are looking for creative ways to get this landing page url out to as many people as possible, mostly college students and recent grads.

How best can we reach your demographic and disperse this link? The MindSumo and Flatiron Books marketing teams will focus on distributing the URL and will want to use your ideas!

Special Award 1: The student that submits the top solution for this challenge will be connected with an Associate Editor at Macmillan for a 15 minute informational interview.

Special Award 2: Students that participate in this challenge may receive special consideration for internship roles at Macmillan.

Special Award 3: Top tier winners will receive a copy of the book!

Deliverables

Answer each item separately:

1. What is your idea to drive traffic to the Freshman Year of Life Landing Page?

2. Why will your idea be effective for a college student target audience?

3. (Optional) Sketches, drawings, mock-ups, charts, videos, graphs or any other media that supports your argument

Your submission should clearly outline a means to drive the core target audience (20-25 year old soon-to-be and recent grads) to visit the landing page and by the book! Give us highly specific and unique ideas please, no generic marketing!

Bonus 1: Propose more than one idea and rationale to market the landing page

Bonus 2: If possible, execute part of your idea by sharing the URL yourself and show your results.
