When buying prescription eyewear, consumers seem to experience two very distinct journeys: one for the frames and one the prescription lenses. 

For frames, consumers are often given a wide range of options with brands, features, and benefits that are easily recognizable and understandable. 

Conversely, for prescription lenses, there seems to be less clarity on brand options or the product's features/benefits. 

Our company produces Ray-Ban® eyeglasses. With your help, we would like to understand what innovative features or benefits can be added to create a better prescription lenses. 

We are seeking highly creative ideas for unmet product needs / wants. Your ideas can be futuristic and it's fine if they aren't technically possible yet. Don't hesitate to think outside the box! Don't hold back!

Deliverables

Help us determine how Ray-Ban can innovate on prescription lenses. Remember: think about CLEAR lenses--meaning correction eyewear for everyday use, NOT sunglasses and NOT frames. Answer the following questions in detail:

  1. How might you expect branded Ray-Ban prescription lenses to differ from other lenses?
  2. What new product features or benefits can Ray-Ban innovate in for prescription lenses? Please be as detailed as possible.
  3. How can Ray-Ban innovate in Rx Lenses by creating features or benefits that bring forward a fashion value proposition?

AVOID: We have heard the common concerns around scratch-resistant, thinner, and lighter lenses. We have also heard ideas around augmented reality or wearables. Please help us avoid these subjects and challenge us to go beyond them. Be creative!!
